 The Disabled Children Matter Wales campaign welcomes the Welsh Assembly Government's announcement that changes are to be made to the Blue Badge Scheme.
The Scheme is to be extended so that children under three with specific medical conditions will now be eligible for a Badge.
Other changes include:
extending eligibility to new groups of disabled people
extending eligibility to people with temporary conditions
establishing a system of data sharing between local authorities, improving Badge security features and look at the possibilities of civil enforcement officers being able to seize Blue Badges that are being used unlawfully in order to reduce abuse of the Scheme.
