International Day for Disabled People on the 3rd of December saw the launch of 'We are on the Way' the Welsh Assembly Government's policy agenda for disabled children and young people.
The document sets out what the Welsh Assembly Government is doing to improve the life-chances of disabled children and young people and how it proposes to improve their opportunities in the future.
An event was held at the Senedd to mark the International Day and the launch of the policy agenda. During the event, young disabled people were given the opportunity to put questions to the First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, and the Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, Jane Hutt. Questions were asked about the difficulties the young people face on a daily basis - enough money to live on, finding things to do and places to go, getting the right education and career advice as well as having the proper equipment to live an ordinary life, such as communication aids.
