Mencap Cymru’s aim is to be the loudest voice of people with a learning disability their families and carers in Wales.
With over 1,500 members across Wales Mencap Cymru provides information, campaigns and offers a wide range of services.
Mencap Cymru works in partnership with individuals and organizations across Wales who want to help people with a learning disability and their families take control of their lives.
In recent years Mencap Cymru has led the Treat Me Right health campaign which saw the introduction of free annual health checks for people with a learning disability in Wales, worked in partnership with Contact a Family to bring about the end of means testing for Disabled Facilities Grants and is currently running the Changing Places Loos campaign which will increase the number of accessible loos for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities across Wales.
We are pleased to be involved in the Disabled Children Matter Wales campaign and our members and staff are committed to improving the lived of disabled children and their families.
