Learning Disability Wales, as the collective voice of the voluntary sector, seeks to promote the right of people with a learning disability to have valued lives.
We:
- Work in partnership with other organisations, service users and their parent/carers
- Campaign to help children and adults with learning disabilities achieve valued lives
- Support the voluntary sector and it’s interests
- Provide and promote good practice
We promote and actively pursue four fundamental principals. People with a learning disability have:
- The right to an ordinary pattern of live within the community
- The right to be treated as an individual
- The right to additional help and support in developing their maximum potential
- The right to participate in all decision making and service planning
